1. General information
The main goal of this subject is for students to consolidate and broaden the grammatical knowledge they possess, improve their written comprehension, become more fluent and confident in oral expression and also acquire a more specific vocabulary related to the field of tourism.
The subject French for Tourism III is an elective course that is taught in the fourth year of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and belongs to the subject of FOREIGN LANGUAGES APPLIED TO TOURISM. The importance of the outbound market French to Spanish tourist destinations is reason enough for the study of this foreign language in the field of studies of Degree in Tourism.
This term is intended for students who have an intermediate level of knowledge of French and are interested in improving their level B1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
These approaches and goals are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030: End poverty (1), Quality education (4), Gender equality (5), Decent workand economic growth (8), Reducing inequalities (10) and Partnerships (17).
2. Learning results
Solve communicative situations in French that involve the understanding of the fundamental concepts of the subject and their correct application.
Perform assignments and tests and participate in activities that demonstrate a knowledge of the subject content.
Identify sociocultural aspects and differences of the French-speaking customer in the field of tourism.
Read, understand, and handle different types of texts in French, valuing them as sources of information necessary for professional activity.
Show fluency, correctness and confidence in oral expression in French.
Master the basic specific vocabulary of the French language used in tourism and business.
Develop soft skills complementary to training (resilience, critical thinking, flexibility, responsibility, teamwork, creativity, ICT in the classroom...).
3. Syllabus

4. Academic activities
Attendance to theoretical and practical classes: 60 hours
Attendance to tutorials: 4 hours
Teaching assignments and preparation of internships: 40 hours
Autonomous work of the student (personal study of the student): 40 hours
Conducting examinations: 6 hours
Total student workload: 150 hours (6 ECTS)
5. Assessment system
FIRST CALL
The active participation and regular class attendance of the student will be a prerequisite to qualify for this assessment system, which will be the main form of assessment recommended. For the continuous assessment calla minimum class attendance of 80% must be accredited.
Due to the eminently practical nature of this subject, the assessment will be carried out continuously throughout the semester and will always consist of an oral test; there will be no final written test.
For the acquisition of the competencies foreseen in this subject, active participation in all the programmed tasks is recommended. Each activity will be graded with a rubric and the final grade will be the weighted average of all work done in class. In order to be eligible for averaging, the minimum grade in each of them is 4 out of 10. All assignments are mandatory and must be completed in their entirety.
Those students who, due to special and justified circumstances and , cannot comply with the continuous assessment system, may take a single final assessment test. In this exceptional case, the test will consist of an individual oral test (100%), to be taken on the dates established for the examination period final of the corresponding semester. The units to be presented will be agreed upon by the teacher.

It will consist of an individual oral test (100%), to be taken on the dates established for the examination period of the second call. The units to be presented will be agreed upon by the teacher.
